“Slab repair” is not a comparable scope. The total changes because crack repair, lifting, stabilization, water work and replacement use different units and solve different problems.
No. 01 — Direct answer
A slab foundation describes part of the building; it does not identify the repair. The most useful cost question is: what method is proposed, what measured quantity is being repaired, and what work sits outside that unit?
One foundation type can lead to several legitimate—but non-comparable—cost units.
No. 02 — Method ranges
Qualified ranges remain useful planning context, but their evidence and scope limitations must travel with the number.

They are possible scopes, not a standard package. A quote should identify which line applies and whether another line is additional, alternative or unrelated.

Ask for the support system, layout, count, unit price and whether lifting is included or only stabilization.

A defined crack or localized slab-lifting scope with stated exclusions. It should not imply whole-foundation stabilization.

No. The published slabjacking line describes slab lifting within a source-defined project scope, while piering is priced per installed support. A proposal should explain which condition and objective it addresses.
No. A cost page cannot classify a crack from appearance or dimensions alone. Document changes and use an appropriately qualified local professional when structural movement or a major repair is being considered.
The bids may describe different methods, quantities, access, engineering, drainage, utility work or restoration. Compare the written scope line by line before deciding that the price itself is the difference.
